Equip the Eye relics to open the Gate of Flesh, then hit Mammon after slams. You need the Thrilling Eye from the Hospital, the Trembling Eye from Pillaged Tombs, and the Oozing Eye from the Circle of Greed equipped together. In Castlevania Belmont's Curse, Mammon waits beyond that gate in the Catacombs of Paris; unlock Smash from Talos in the Library and Clock Tower before starting the Eye route.
Where do you find the Three Eyes for the Circle of Greed?
Find the Thrilling Eye in the Hospital, the Trembling Eye in Pillaged Tombs, and the Oozing Eye beyond the Gate of Flesh's corridor. Collect the Oozing Eye last: its chamber has an eastern exit leading straight back to the gate.
Thrilling Eye: descend through the Hospital
- Head to Street of the Tomb Masons in Paris Streets, near the route into Holy Innocents' Cemetery.
- Use Smash on the breakable floor to enter the Hospital. Press down and jump while airborne to perform it.
- Work down to the Hospital's lowest section, defeat the enemies guarding the pedestal, and collect the Thrilling Eye.
- Leave through the nearby exit to avoid climbing back through the building.
Save at the nearest Mirror of Life before entering. The Hospital's enemies can take a sizeable chunk of your health, and a nearby checkpoint cuts the return trip if you die.
Trembling Eye: escape the Pillaged Tombs chase
- Return to the Fountain of the Innocents in Holy Innocents' Cemetery. Find the blocked downward passage below the ruins.
- Head east, slide through the gap above the traps, and activate the hidden lever.
- Return to the opened passage and drop into Pillaged Tombs.
- Clear the sealed combat room, then Smash the breakable platform on the left.
- Keep moving when the exploding ball starts chasing you. Follow the trap route toward the upper section to reach the Trembling Eye.
- Activate the lever near the relic for a shorter exit.
Do not stop to fight while the exploding ball is pursuing you. Keep going through the traps and deal with enemies after the hazard has passed.
Oozing Eye: clear the relic chamber arena
- From Ferryman's Wharf in the Catacombs of Paris, take the left route from the Collapsed Path of Orpheus.
- Climb through the anchor and spinning-blade section, then go left into the Antechamber of Sin.
- Continue left past the Gate of Flesh in the Circle of Greed and follow the blade corridor into the large relic chamber.
- Defeat every enemy around the central platform. The chamber doors open when the arena battle is cleared, letting you collect the Oozing Eye.
- Take the eastern path back to the Gate of Flesh.
Slow down around the spinning blades, especially if the Pillaged Tombs chase left you low on health. Rushing this stretch can cost health quickly.
How do you open the Gate of Flesh with the Three Eyes?
Equip the Thrilling Eye, Trembling Eye, and Oozing Eye simultaneously, then interact with the Gate of Flesh to enter Mammon's Lair.
- Open Equipment, then select Relics.
- Put the Thrilling Eye, Trembling Eye, and Oozing Eye into your relic slots.
- Close the menu, approach the gate, and interact with it.
Collecting the Eyes alone does not open the door. If it stays shut, check what you actually have equipped. The Abyssal Eye from Holy Innocents' Cemetery cannot replace any required Eye, despite its similar name.
How do you beat Mammon in the Circle of Greed?
Avoid Mammon's attack sequences, then cast Blood Spikes when he pauses after floor slams or ricochets. The overhead grapple rings let you reposition with the Arcane Whip while keeping clear of ground attacks.
Prepare for an airborne fight
Twin blades are a useful weapon choice because their whip attack lands multiple hits and grants invincibility frames. Mammon spends plenty of time moving through the air, so an attack that can reach him while protecting you helps during his laser patterns.
Carmilla's Blood Spikes deals lingering damage for roughly eight seconds. Prioritize its third unlockable effect if you have it: bleeding slows Mammon and reduces his damage output by 25%. Do not chase a second cast just to trigger instant damage against an already bleeding enemy; he moves fast enough to make that follow-up difficult.
Before entering, defeat nearby enemies for a chance at an extra potion and break candles for a chance to recover health or mana.
Survive Mammon's first phase
For the floor slams, slide or air dash away as Mammon is about to pounce. He pauses after four consecutive slams, giving you time to land Blood Spikes. Keep dodging until the sequence finishes instead of trying to trade hits between impacts.

| Attack | What you should do | Opening or danger |
|---|---|---|
| Plus-shaped or X-shaped lasers | Move into the gaps; use grapple rings to reposition. Crouch when he fires very low to the ground. | He changes position and fires four times before switching attacks. |
| Ricochet | Avoid his path until he hits the floor a second time. | He stops long enough for Blood Spikes. |
| Gaseous form | Lure him along the floor, grapple up a wall, wall jump, then air dash away in a figure-eight route. | Contact immobilizes you and lets him follow up. The form lasts roughly nine seconds. |
Blood Spikes keeps dealing lingering damage if Mammon turns gaseous after being hit. Concentrate on escaping rather than trying to stay close for another attack.
Adapt to Mammon's faster second phase
Move into a corner for the opening eight-direction laser burst, then adjust to faster versions of his attacks.
| Attack change | Response | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Lasers fire twice as fast | Stay far away until the sequence ends, or close in with the twin blades' whip attack. | Its invincibility frames can carry you through the beams while you land hits. |
| Each floor slam gains a quick laser follow-up | Keep your distance, dodge the slam, and crouch if a horizontal beam is coming. | Whip attacks leave you exposed to the next slam. |
| Ricochet lasts longer and drops rocks | Watch Mammon's direction and parry falling rocks with Holy Light. | You must track both his movement and the falling debris. |
Keep using the figure-eight escape for gaseous form. It lasts roughly six seconds in this phase, but continue moving until he changes back. Save aggressive twin-blade counters for the laser sequence; the faster slam chain punishes the same commitment.
What do you get after beating Mammon?
Defeating Mammon rewards you with Wheel of Chaos, and the gold hoard in his lair contains the Ferryman's Obol. Search the hoard before leaving.
Next, return to any Ferryman's Wharf in the Catacombs of Paris and speak to the Ferryman with the Obol. You receive The Whisperer Arcana and Freezing Path, the spell needed for a later trial.
