Solve the Planetarium globes to reach Carmilla, then use the Holy Cross and jump over her blood attacks. In Castlevania Belmont's Curse, Carmilla waits in the Observatory above the Library's Observation Tower. You can reach her through the Library without unlocking an additional double jump beforehand.
How do you reach the Planetarium and Observation Tower?
Cross the Forgotten Bridge from the Clock Tower, enter the Library, and solve the Planetarium's globe puzzles to open the climb to the Observation Tower.
- Take the Ferryman to the Clock Tower and find the passage to the Forgotten Bridge.
- Cross the long bridge to the right and enter the Library.
- From the Library Foyer, follow the Rhetoric Shelves toward the Planetarium. Take the northeast route at the fork.
- Look for the huge reddish celestial body and the astronomical globes surrounded by glowing bounce points.

How do you solve the Planetarium globe puzzles?
Bounce on each globe's correct four points without touching the others; completing a pattern reveals an extra bounce point for the upward route. Match the central image to the man, woman, or skeleton solution below. The man pattern also works on other globes bearing the man's image.
Man globe: follow the lower points
- Find the Star Chart in the lower part of the Astronomer's Office, east of the Planetarium. It depicts the man and the required connected stars.
- Bounce across only the four lower points, going left to right. The reverse order also works.
- Use the larger bounce point that appears to continue upward.

Woman globe: connect the left and right pairs
- After the first man globe, continue right to the first woman globe.
- Drop to the lower floor and head left into the Salon's secret passage to find its Star Chart.
- Bounce middle left → upper left → lower right → middle right, avoiding the other points.
- Take the extra bounce point upward toward the next globe.

Skeleton globe: copy the window constellation
- Head to the Natural Philosophy Shelves, northwest of the study room. The route from the Planetarium goes up and left, then west.
- Wall-jump through the room leading to the small area with the Blood Poem. Leave by the bottom-right path to reach a lounge with a chair and a large window.
- Look at the stars outside. Their constellation gives the skeleton pattern: middle left → upper right → middle right → lower right. You can also follow it in reverse.
- Bounce on those points to reveal the final extra orb.

Follow the newly accessible platforms, bounce points, and whip anchors upward into the Observation Tower. Rest in the chair before continuing to Carmilla so you enter the encounter recovered.

How do you beat Carmilla?
Throw the Holy Cross through Carmilla's skulls, attack when she reappears, and prioritize jumping over blood attacks over squeezing in another hit. A weapon with good reach lets you keep dealing damage during her blood attack without standing directly against her; compare the weapon types if you want to change your reach.
Carmilla opens with a curse counter at 8. Blood hits lower that counter, so avoiding repeated contact matters even when you still have health.

- Clear the skulls with the Holy Cross. Its outward flight can hit both skulls, and its return can hit them again. Aim through the pair to get more from each throw.

- Watch for her reappearance cue. Carmilla signals where she will come out. Attack when she returns, but hold another cross if she is already teleporting away; throwing into that disappearance wastes the opening.
- Jump over the dangerous blood wave. Watch the blood rising along the floor and jump over it rather than running through it.

- Attack from a safe gap during the blood pillars. Once the attack is telegraphed, keep your position clear of the pillars and use a long-reaching weapon to hit Carmilla.

- Expect blood directly in front of her too. The traveling attack can be followed by another attack close to Carmilla. Staying glued to her for extra damage can catch you in that follow-up.

Do not slide back into active blood after dodging. You can take repeated hits during the same attack and lose more of the curse counter. Give up an extra strike if you need that moment to stay clear.

What do you get after beating Carmilla?
Defeating Carmilla gives you The Occultist Arcana and the Blood Spikes spell. Search the Observatory afterward and pick up Brauner's Paintbrush from the desk before leaving.
The paintbrush plays a role in freeing the Artist and reaching Notre-Dame. With Carmilla defeated and the Observatory searched, continue with the Library and Clock Tower walkthrough, or follow the full walkthrough to choose your next destination.
